Winner of the 2009 J.J.C. Bradfield Award

ubowireless took out the top award at the Sydney Division Engineers Australia Engineering Excellence Awards for 2009, the J.J.C. Bradfield Award.

The Engineering Excellence Awards recognise the expertise of individuals and engineering organisations, with awards given in 14 categories. The Bradfield Award recipient is chosen from the winners of all categories. It recognises an accomplishment of exceptional engineering merit.

Bradfield Award Presentation In addition, ubowireless won the top award in the Control Systems and Communications category -- for projects, products, and developments in process control, automation, and telecommunications environments based on a demonstrated achievement of engineering excellence through delivery of benefits to users and the community; innovation, environmental sustainability, sound engineering, commercial viability, quality, and notability in comparison to world's best practice.

ubowireless was highly commended in the Innovations & Inventions category -- for projects and activities that could not have proceeded without a fundamental innovation of engineering knowledge or a technology and aims to recognise engineering inventions of any type that have been developed by an engineer to the point of practical application.

2007 ACCOMS Innovation Award - SME

In 2007 Unwired won the ACCOMS Award for Innovation in a small-medium enterprise due to the development and implementation of Ubo and its benefits. The Ubo technology was spun off in June 2007 as ubowireless Pty Ltd which now markets its industry-leading technology globally to multiple customers.

$1.9M AusIndustry Commercial Ready Grant

In November, 2006 Unwired was granted a $1.9M AusIndustry Commercial Ready grant to commercialise its technology. The grant helped ubowireless Pty Ltd become a reality and to develop its modular solution that helps to quantify and manage network traffic for wireless providers and carriers around the globe, delivering them cost savings and improving the efficiency of wireless traffic across their networks.
